Terahertz combs & ultrafast switching
With photomixing techniques, optical frequency comb lasing can be transferred into the Terahertz spectral region, thus leading to Terahertz comb radiation. This can be used to calibrate Terahertz radiation and to provide very accurate phase locks for Terahertz pulses. The later one could provide further tools for the investigation of ultrafast switching in semiconductors and high temperature superconductors.
