Süddeutsche Zeitung reviews Menlo Systems’ founding story

On the occasion of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics, which goes in part to Prof. Ferenc Krausz, Director of the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ), the Süddeutsche Zeitung interviewed Menlo Systems’ co-founder and Managing Director Ronald Holzwarth. Sharing a long history of technological innovations with the MPQ, Menlo Systems' foundations are rooted in MPQ Director and 2005 Nobel laureate Prof. Theodor Hänsch's invention of the optical frequency comb.

The article sheds some light on frequency comb technology, which is now enabling a vast array of groundbreaking applications – including in the world’s most precise optical atomic clocks, and what their advent holds for our society.
