TERA K15 – Faster Measurements with Extended Scan Range

April, 2015

Menlo Systems has released the TERA K15 ‘edition 2015’ fiber coupled THz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) system with improved data acquisition and signal sampling. The system operates without lock-in amplifier and performs fast measurements with highest bandwidth and signal levels. The new optomechanical delay unit enables single measurements at up to 25 Hz rate with a freely selectable scanning window. A high-resolution THz spectrum is recorded within less than 20 s.

The entire scan range of >850 ps offers a high degree of flexibility for the configuration of the THz path. E.g., the THz path can be extended by further components while maintaining the advantages of the fiber coupled THz modules.

The latest antenna technology with high THz output power provides >4 THz spectral bandwidth and up to 80 dB dynamic range. In combination with the improved delay unit, thicker and stronger absorptive samples can be inspected, opening up new possibilities particularly for reflective THz imaging.

Menlo Systems’ ultra-stable lasers with figure 9® technology guarantee compact and robust THz systems which exhibit extremely high tolerance towards mechanical and thermal instabilities or humidity of the operation environment. The new THz system development brings unparalleled user-friendliness and flexibility for scientific material testing and for quality control applications.
