HiFi

Highly Integrated Quantum Frequency Converter of Highest Fidelity Based on Innovative Laser, Fiber and Production Technology

In the future, fiber-optic networks will connect different quantum computers over long distances to securely exchange information and increase quantum computing power. The HiFi project involves the development of a compact quantum frequency converter that converts qubits to telecommunications wavelengths from shorter near-infrared wavelengths, enabling transmission of the qubits over fiber-optic networks.

The HiFi consortium, coordinated by Menlo Systems, aims to develop a novel quantum frequency conversion system with very high conversion efficiency and low parametric noise. Menlo Systems contributes to the project with its frequency comb and fiber-optic path length stabilization technology.
