SmartComb-ULN: Compact, Stable, Reliable

Menlo Systems introduces its newest platform for metrology: The SmartComb-ULN, a compact, robust, high-end, and fully automated Frequency Comb system. This turnkey all-in-one system, built with Menlo Systems’ robust and reliable figure 9^® fiber mode-locked oscillator technology, combines the unrivalled performance of our ultra-low-noise (ULN) frequency comb with a compact form factor of only 3 height units in a 19” rack format.

Essentially a smaller, modified version of the FC1500-ULNnova, the SmartComb-ULN offers a repetition rate of 250 MHz, leading to improvements over the SmartComb 100 in terms of higher average optical power, better stability and lower phase-noise. Additionally, the SmartComb-ULN can be combined with all extensions compatible with the FC1500-ULNnova, enabling an expansion of the comb spectrum from 500 nm to 2100nm. Thus, the SmartComb-ULN expands its range of applications.

With its increased repetition rate and tunable carrier envelope offset frequency, the SmartComb-ULN offers the user the flexibility of adapting the absolute positions of all comb lines. This feature is crucial for the exact matching of individual comb lines to different atomic transitions or analysis/enhancement cavities.
