05.10.2009 | New low cost PCA for THz spectroscopy and imaging

Menlo Systems and the Fraunhofer Institute for Physical Measurement Techniques have again joined forces to develop a low cost photoconductive antenna (PCA) for THz generation. The new TERA8-1, utilizes the same low temperature (LT) grown GaAs technology found in our current TERA8 with a single dipole structure for significant cost reduction. The wrapped dipole structure, when excited with 150 fs 800 nm laser pulses, emits and detects with 4 THz of bandwidth. The antennae come mounted, connected and individually tested, ready for use in spectroscopy or imaging applications.

27.03.2009 | New Yb CW laser system for laser cooling and trapping

Menlo Systems GmbH and Koheras A/S have joined forces to present a new high power CW Yb fiber laser system. MenloSystems' new fiber laser system "orange one" delivers 1 or 2 W of optical output power in the wavelength range of 1100 nm - 1121 nm with an optical line width below 50 kHz. It uses Koheras' new ultra narrow line width single frequency fiber laser module as seed laser together with a two stage amplifier designed and built by Menlo Systems. The new orange one laser is available exclusively from Menlo Systems.

09.02.2009 | See the Phase Drift: New Visual Tool for the APS800 Phase Stabilization Unit

Menlo Systems announces the latest version of the APS800 control software. The APS800 phase stabilization unit is used to monitor and stabilize the phase relation of amplified few-cycle pulses. The newly released software now grants visual control over the phase stable pulses. The graphical user surface has been redesigned, allowing to monitor the phase drift of amplified laser pulses as a contour plot of the interference pattern generated by the f:2f-interferometer.

09.01.2009 | Compact fiber laser delivers record short sub-70 fs pulses at 780 nm

Due to the significantly improved frequency conversion scheme, the new T-Light 780 has spectral bandwidths of >12 nm, which leads to pulse durations <100 fs. With the T-Femtoscale, a pulse compressor based on chirped mirror technology, further compression to sub-70 fs is achieved.
